Hi, we’re Iain and Jo
… and Hugster is our baby (along with our real babies)
It all started at a friend’s house party and within 6 months we’d booked a 12-month backpacking trip around the world together.
We chased Ben Harper across the USA, hiked with monkeys in Costa Rica, got “The Mummy Tummy” in Egypt like most travellers do, and had adventures all over Europe and Asia.
Back in Melbourne, Jo started work as a journalist, interviewing amazing people and writing a magazine’s travel section (those free trips – take me back!!!) before becoming Hugster’s studio manager.
Iain had dabbled with photography before, but while travelling he realised what he really loved was photographing people. It took a few years after that to take the plunge and launch Hugster, but that was really where it started.
Since then we’ve had two crazy kids, gone on lots more adventures, photographed hundreds of amazing families and learned a lot about what genuinely makes families smile.
We’ve always wanted Hugster to be a blend of Jo’s love of stories and Iain’s love of capturing personalities, but we never could have predicted how special it is to see that combined in a beautifully printed wall art piece.
If you think we’d work well together, we’d love to hear from you.
